In this article we have discussed commands of Indian Navy. The Indian Navy is the maritime branch of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India serves as the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, the organisational structure of the Indian Navy is headed by the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), who holds the rank of Admiral. While the provision for the rank of Admiral of the Fleet exists, no officer of the Indian Navy has yet been conferred this rank. The Chief of Naval Staff, a four-star admiral, commands the navy.
You can remember all commands of the Indian Navy with their respective headquarters. This might help you during your NDA Exam and other Defence exams.

1. Eastern Naval Command: Eastern Naval command is responsible for the all naval forces in the Bay of Bengal and parts of the Indian Ocean and the naval establishments on the east coast of India. The Command was established on 1 March 1968. The headquarters at Visakhapatnam is also a strategically important dockyard for two nuclear-powered submarines. Bases under this Command are mentioned below:
