ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Age: The age limit varies based on the branch. For the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Officers’ Training Academy (OTA), and Indian Naval Academy (INA), candidates should be between 19 and 24 years old. For the Air Force Academy (AFA), the age limit is between 19 and 23 years.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

For IMA and OTA: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or equivalent.

For INA: Engineering degree or equivalent.

For AFA: Graduation with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering.

EXAM PATTERN:

The CDS exam is conducted twice a year, typically in February and November.

For IMA, INA, and AFA: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics.

For OTA: English and General Knowledge.

The papers are objective-type multiple-choice questions.

Each paper is 2 hours duration.

Candidates who qualify the written exam are called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.
